We are a small school by design, creating an intense and intimate educational experience for each student. There is an extensive administrative infrastructure to meet the needs of the school and the students. At FLP, students receive a classical, liberal arts education. For advanced students we tailor individualized educational programs that offer AP and honors classes and for those that need academic support there is a focus on skills development. We have been a family owned and operated educational corporation for over 30 years. Our mission is to educate young people to develop self-discipline, love of learning, and service to others.
A small school may lack the bells and whistles of elaborate architecture, but it has proven to be more effective in almost every variable in educating children. With our rich history and institutional traditions we can offer a complete school experience including extra curricular activities such as Honor Society, Student Council, Student Newspapers & Literary magazines, Yearbook, Prom, class rings, Guest Speakers, Assemblies, school plays, extensive field trips, a formal graduation ceremony and more.
Parents place an enormous trust in us. We respect that trust. Our policy is that supervision of students must be ever present in the minds of everyone who works at our school.
Our centrally designed facility with easy access to all administrators creates an open and secure environment. Our policy of clear and regular communication with parents guarantees that our parents are part of the childrens school lives.
Starting with the concept that no one is born a good student, they learn to be that way with proper practice; we place a daily emphasis on Study Skills. We teach our students how to take notes, organize themselves and how to prepare for and take exams. With a structured program and constant supervision we help students prepare for their college education on their path to adulthood.
At FLP we also foster an interest in the arts. Even though our primary focus is on the seemingly more practical courses, arts education matters! The arts are a universal language that bridges cultures and articulates the highest aspirations of humanity. This will have an impact on the globalization of culture in an increasingly interdependent world. This focus on the arts has been shown to reduce the incidence of apathy and aggression by encouraging students with a wide variety of learning styles to work together and appreciate their gifts.
FLP small, involved with a caring family atmosphere.
