The Charter Schools of Excellence are tuition-free, public charter schools that offer Broward county students in grades K-5 the chance to excel academically and personally. Our schools provide an outstanding academic curriculum, character education and individual attention to each student. The Charter School of Excellence in Fort Lauderdale was one of the first charter schools to open in Broward County in 1997. It has received a state grade of “A” for seven years in a row and was named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2008 by the U.S. Department of Education.
